课题组研究兴趣主要集中再生医学领域,尤其是干细胞及细胞命运调控方向。以第一或共同第一作者身份的在Science,Cell,Nature等杂志发表科研论文,建立了化学重编程诱导人多能干细胞技术,为人多能干细胞的制备提供了全新的途径。相关研究成果被评为中国科学十大进展(2013)、中国生命科学领域十大进展(2015)和中国基础医学与生物学重要进展(2023)。
以药物开发和应用为目标和导向,研究兴趣集中:
1. 开发和发展新的方法制备干细胞,功能细胞及三维类器官等,用于药物筛选,疾病模型构建及细胞治疗等;
2. 研究细胞命运重编程中,调控细胞命运转变的基本生物学规律,发现调控细胞命运的新靶点和机理;
3. 借助体内外疾病模型,基于细胞命运调控理论,筛选针对特定疾病的新靶点及调控分子。
