Research Interests:

1. To study novel antinociceptive mechanism that underlies acting peripheral ?7 nAChR and M4 mAChR and related signaling pathways. We have found that spirocyclopiperaziniumsalt compound LXM-10-M produced significant antinociceptive effect without obvious toxicity. The antinociceptive mechanism was mediated by activation of ?7 nicotinic receptor and M4 muscarinic receptor, and inhibition of CaMKIIα/CREB/CGRP signaling pathway.
2. To study novel anti-inflammatory mechanism underlying peripheral ?7 nAChR and M4 mAChR. We have reported that the spirocyclopiperazinium salt compound LXM-15 displays considerable anti-inflammatory effects. The underlying mechanism is through activating the peripheral ?7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and M4 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, leading to the inhibition of the JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathway, resulting in the reduction of TNF-? and IL-6.
3. To develop novel drugs against chronic neuropathic pain and inflammation with reduced side effects.
